celebrate the boys: raglan t's

I'm so excited that Celebrate the Boy is back on Made and Made by Rae. It was just the motivation I needed to finally sew up a shirt for Hudson and a romper for Miles. I've had this construction fabric in my stash forever. For Hudson's shirt, I used a raglan t-shirt that fit him to create my own pattern and followed the instructions from this tutorial.  The yellow fabric is from a men's t-shirt I got on clearance.  I just reused the neckband so it was super easy and surged all the seems, which made it go fast.

Miles' romper was a bit more complicated.  I used a raglan sleeve romper he already had to create a pattern.  I used the same tutorial for the sleeves, but left one seem partially unfinished so I could add some snaps.

For the crotch snaps, I created a facing for the part around the legs, sewed it on right side to right side and then turned it under.  I turned the raw edge under and sewed along the folded seem.  This finished the edge and gave some stability for the snaps so they wouldn't rip through the fabric.  It turned out pretty well and wasn't too hard to sew.
